In February 2017 Laurie offered a week-long portrait painting workshop for 8 artists in the tropical paradise of Cahuita, Costa Rica.
The group stayed at SEED – an ecovillage agricommunity.
With the local indigenous people– the “Bri Bri”– as models, participants painted each morning with individual instruction at each easel. By the end of the 6-day painting period, each artist had a portrait completed to a near-finished state.
Activities included visiting a chocolate-making facility, exploring waterfalls, hiking in the rainforest, and swimming and relaxing on a pristine sandy beach.
